Caloocan cops suffer over P1-M water bill

Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  The Caloocan police headquarters in Sangandaan has had no water supply for over six months due to an unpaid water bill amounting to more than P1 million.

Senior Superintendent Rimas Calixto said the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) was told about the bill even before he assumed the post of city police chief in January.

The water supply was disconnected on Sept. 27, 2012 after the bill reached P1,030,477.38.

Calixto said he asked the NCRPO for the construction of a P400,000 deep well water system last April 22, but the NCRPO said drilling within Metro Manila is prohibited.

He said they have been told that the NCRPO is “doing everything to immediately restore water services.”
