Bomb threat hits Ospital ng Makati

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Ospital ng Makati in Barangay Pembo received a bomb threat yesterday morning.

Operatives of the Makati police explosives and ordnance division searched the hospital but found no bomb, according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban.

“The bomb threat turned out to be a hoax. We have cleared the area,” Lukban said.

Police said a nurse received a text message containing the alleged threat from an unidentified sender at around 8:40 a.m.

The text message read: “Saan niyo gusto ilagay ang bomba? Mas maganda hanapin nyo n lng! Gudluck. Umpisahan nyo na 2 oras meron kayo.” (Where would you want to put the bomb? It’s better if you search for it. Good luck. You have two hours to find it).

Police investigators said they will track down the sender of the bomb threat.

Meanwhile, Ospital ng Makati medical director, Dr. Perry Ishmael Peralta, denied reports that the patients were evacuated following the bomb threat.

Peralta said they merely ordered off-duty hospital personnel and the patients’ visitors to go home.
