Garbage bag yields body

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a man believed to have been a victim of summary execution was found stuffed in a garbage bag in Quezon City early yesterday morning.

Police investigators have yet to identify the victim whose body was discovered at 5 a.m. in Barangay Immaculate Concepcion, according to Police Officer 2 Romeo Nino.

The man bore a ligature mark around his neck and multiple stabbed wounds in his body. His hands were tied with packing tape, Nino said.

Police said the victim was found stashed in a black trash bag by scavenger Cristine Quilaria.

Quilaria told probers she was sifting through the pile of trash when she noticed the garbage bag.

When she opened it, she was shocked to see the victim’s head wrapped in packing tape.

She immediately reported her discovery to barangay officials.
