Fire destroys houses near Camp Crame

MANILA, Philippines - A residential area near Camp Crame in Quezon City was razed by flames yesterday afternoon.

Some 90 families were reportedly affected by the flames that broke out at around 5 p.m. The flames gutted houses along 1st Avenue in Barangay Bagong Lipunan ng Crame.

Among the tenants in the affected houses were policemen assigned at the Philippine National Police headquarters.

Initial reports from the Quezon City Fire District stated the fire alarm had been raised to Task Force Bravo at around 6 p.m. with some 20 firetrucks sent to the site to put out the blaze.

Firefighters put out the last flames just before 6:30 p.m. Investigation is still ongoing as to what caused the fire.
