Cop shot dead in QC
MANILA, Philippines - A policeman on his way home from work was shot dead in Quezon City Thursday night by armed men on a motorcycle, who also shot and hurt two other persons.
Police Officer 2 Jayson Aragon, assigned to Police Regional Office 4A and a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, died upon at arrival at Fairview General Hospital, said PO2 Jogene Hernandez.
Witnesses told police the two unidentified men on a motorcycle also shot Raymart Cadsawan, 21, and Rolando Herado, 29, while fleeing.
Cadsawan sustained two gunshot wounds in the abdomen while Herado was hit in the left leg.
Aragon was driving his motorcycle home that night when he stopped by a store. His killers stopped and shot him.
While the gunmen were fleeing, Cadsawan accosted them for driving recklessly. One of the men shot Cadsawan and a stray bullet hit Herado.
Hernandez said Aragon was invovled in a shootout in his neighborhood with a suspected hitman who was killed by responding policemen a few years ago.
