MMDA launches tilt to clean up Manila Bay

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has called on students of colleges and universities in Metro Manila to submit “innovative engineering solutions” to the problem of garbage in Manila Bay.

Dubbed the “Manila Bay Cleanup Competition 2013,” the tilt is open to all students and student groups.

The student or student group who will submit the winning concept will get P25,000 in cash from the MMDA, which will also fund and implement the solution.

Interested students and student groups have until May 31 to submit their entries to Lualhati Dorotan at the MMDA chairman’s office or through e-mail at [email protected] with the subject “MMDA Manila Bay Cleanup Competition.” For inquiries, interested students may call Mary Grace Magpayo at 882-44-51 local 269.
