MPD files charges vs 15 MNLF men
MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Police District (MPD) yesterday filed charges against 15 alleged members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) earlier arrested in Tondo for alleged possession of firearms and ammunition.
MPD Station 2 chief Superintendent Ernesto Tendero Jr. filed violations of Republic Act 8294 or illegal possession of firearms and the Omnibus Election Code against the suspects with the Manila City prosecutor’s office.
The respondents were identified as Rodelio de Guzman, 36, of Compostella Valley; Najib Dulos, 31, of Davao Oriental; Teodoro Tana, 29, of Davao City; Rauf Olamit, of Davao City; Waradji Abdullah, 57, of Davao City; Yusop Basari, of Davao City; Celso Yntig, 41, of Compostella Valley; Oman Ibrahim, 43, of Davao City; Rolando Olamit, 53, of Davao del Sur; Nelson Mustapha, 35, of Davao City; Abducani Waradje, 66, of Davao City; Jalim Madji, 43, of Davao Oriental; Jefrey Osim, 32, of Davao del Norte; Sahibil Abdulhan, 44, of Davao City; and Rickson Arpa, 49, of Davao City.
Police said they recovered from the suspects one .45 caliber Colt pistol, an ARMSCOR .45 caliber pistol, a .9mm caliber pistol and several ammunition.
The suspects were apprehended last Monday along Zaragoza street in front of Almario Elementary School in Tondo.
It was earlier reported that the MNLF men were in the area to allegedly raise funds.
