Big-time drug pusher falls

Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged big-time drug pusher and two others were arrested in a raid in Caloocan City yesterday.

More than 20 policemen swooped down on a shanty along 2nd Avenue and arrested Joshua Infante, 22.

Seized from him were bricks of dried marijuana leaves, a caliber .357 handgun, ammunition, and a hand grenade.

Infante peddles shabu and marijuana in the city’s slum areas, according to Caloocan police chief investigator Chief Inspector Rodrigo Soriano.

“He started out as a drug user-peddler at (age) 17. Now, customers are the ones going to his house to buy drugs,” Soriano said.

He said the suspect has been under police surveillance for weeks prior to his arrest.

The suspect’s cohorts, Rolando Arcilla and Darwin Dacillo, were also arrested during the raid.

The raid was conducted by virtue of a search warrant issued by Caloocan Judge Eleonor Kwong.

Infante will be charged with violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession firearms.
