4 arrested for raping rob victim in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - Three men and a teenaged boy were arrested for allegedly raping their robbery victim in Barangay 176, Caloocan City before dawn yesterday.

Charlie Prieto, Anthony Fernando, Oscar Vertera, and the teenager were slapped with rape with robbery before the Caloocan prosecutor’s office.

Two cousins – a female and a male – complained that they were on their way home when the suspects blocked their path and took their Blackberry cellular phones and P3,000 cash.

Police said one of the suspects dragged the victims to a vacant lot where Prieto allegedly raped the woman while his companions held her at knife-point. The other suspects allegedly took turns in raping the victim, police said. The rape victim’s cousin managed to run and sought police help.

The suspects were nabbed by barangay watchmen in a follow-up operation. Two other suspects remain at-large.
