Cop, companion killed in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines - A suspended policeman and his companion were killed in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

PO2 Zalde Elumbia, 37, and Reynaldo Tapay died on the spot when shot at around 2 a.m. in front of a store in Barangay Novaliches Proper, according to SPO1 Cristituto Zaldarriaga.

He was suspended from service for his alleged involvement in the death of a man during a fight between warring gangs in Rizal last year.
