Finish road repairs before school opening – Angara

MANILA, Philippines - Team PNoy senatorial candidate and Aurora Rep. Juan Edgardo Angara yesterday urged the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to expedite road and bridge repairs as the school opening nears.

Angara said the DPWH and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) should take advantage of the summer break to complete road repairs before classes open in June.

The two agencies should clear waterways and drainage inlets in preparation for the rainy season, he said.

Angara also asked the DPWH and the Department of Education to rush school building repairs.

He has promised to allot P100 million of his annual pork barrel fund for classrooms if he is elected to the Senate.
