Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Five people, including a six-year-old girl, were hospitalized after a chemical tank was forced open in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City Sunday afternoon.

The victims were hospitalized after experiencing dizziness, difficulty in breathing, and vomiting at about 5 p.m., Inspector Ernesto Palting said.

Efren Villanueva, 39; Abdulah Limpasan, 33; John Bel Reyes, 21; and the six-year-old girl were discharged the same day. The fifth victim, a 16-year-old boy, remains confined.

Palting said suspect Richard Villanueva was taken to the police station. He said the abandoned tank along Ponce street in Barangay 134 leaked after Villanueva and three unidentified accomplices forced it open.

Investigators have yet to identify the chemical contained in the tank, which will be turned over to the Philippine National Police headquarters in Quezon City.
