Fake cop caught taking shops’ photos

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A fake policeman was arrested yesterday in San Juan City while taking photographs of shops along Blumentritt street.

Archie Llamera, 33, was wearing a police patrol shirt and pants when he was accosted by police officers. He showed city police chief Senior Superintendent Bernard Tambaoan a police ring and a mission order signed by Director Ely Quinola.

“He was a fake cop so I ordered the filing of appropriate charges against him,” Tambaoan said, adding that he sent a patrol team to the Blumentritt street after receiving reports that a policeman was taking photographs of businesses in the area.

Tambaoan said they are checking if Llamera had been involved in illegal activities in the past.

Tambaoan ordered the filing of illegal use of a police uniform, and usurpation of authority against Llamera, who is detained at the San Juan police detention center.

Llamera chose to remain silent when asked about the accusations against him.
