Travel agency owner slain in ambush

MANILA, Philippines - A travel agency owner was ambushed in Ermita, Manila as she was on her way home from work Thursday night.

Fatima Shalabi, 29, was in a car with her husband, Amro; and employees Nilo Espiritu and Mary Ann Lapa when two men on a motorcycle shot at them along Vazquez street at past 6 p.m. Shalabi and her companions had come from the Dram Fame Travel Agency.

The victim died of gunshot wounds at the Medical Center Manila a few minutes after the ambush. Investigators are trying to establish a motive for the murder.
