105th Maguindanao massacre suspect falls
MANILA, Philippines - Mindanao police arrested last week another suspect in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre, according to documents submitted to the Quezon City court handling the multiple murder case.
Senior Inspector Free Bete, deputy chief of Philippine National Police – Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 15, said suspect Maot Bangkulat was arrested by authorities on April 8.
Bangkulat is the 105th suspect arrested in connection with the massacre, which claimed the lives of 58 people, including 32 media practitioners.
He was caught in Datu Montawal town in Maguindanao. He was transferred Thursday to the Quezon City Jail-Annex at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.
Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221 Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes set his arraignment on Monday.
