Teen nabbed for rape try on sister

MANILA, Philippines - A 19-year-old man was arrested when he reportedly tried to stab his stepfather for preventing him from raping his 13-year-old sister in Malabon City before dawn yesterday.

The girl was sleeping in her room and woke up to her elder brother removing her clothes at past 4 a.m., according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Ampil said.

The girl ran and told her father, who evicted the teenager from their house. The teenager grabbed a 19-inch knife and chased his stepfather until police officers were able to subdue the suspect.

The teenager was slapped with several criminal charges, including acts of lasciviousness, before the Malabon prosecutor’s office. He is being held at the local police station.
