MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will start the rehabilitation of EDSA and other major roads in Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan and Makati City today until Sunday.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) assistant general manager for operations Emerson Carlos advised motorists to avoid the roads that will be repaired.
The following roads will be covered by the repair works: North Avenue crossing Mindanao Avenue, EDSA from Cloverleaf to Oliveros street (southbound fifth lane), EDSA from Highway 54 to end of underpass (southbound) in Quezon City; Ortigas Avenue from Connecticut to Notre Dame street in Mandaluyong City.
EDSA from Estrella footbridge to Guadalupe footbridge in Makati City; EDSA from Asuncion street to MCU Hospital (northbound lane), and EDSA from Benin street to Urbrano Plato street in Caloocan City.
The MMDA said that portions of Nicanor Reyes street from C.M. Recto to España and San Marcelino street in Sampaloc, Manila will also be repaired.
According to Carlos, the road works include sidewalk repair, improvement of drainage system, asphalt overlays and pothole patching. He advised motorists to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
