Korean nabbed for stealing roommate’s wallet

MANILA, Philippines - A Korean man was arrested yesterday for allegedly stealing the wallet of his roommate at a boarding house in Ermita, Manila.

Beongdeok Ahn’s roommate, engineer Danilo Bautista, accused the Korean of taking his wallet, which he kept under his pillow, while he was sleeping.

Bautista notified his landlord and the two of them tried to locate Beongdeok, whom they found in one of the buildings in Ermita.

Bautista said they found his wallet in Beongdeok’s possession, but his money was missing.

Senior Police Officer 3 John Cayetano said Beongdeok lost his job at an electronics firm in Cavite and had been frequenting casinos.
