Navotas fire leaves 15 families homeless

MANILA, Philippines - A fire razed 12 houses, leaving 15 families homeless, and injured two people in Barangay San Jose, Navotas City before dawn yesterday.

Volunteer firefighter Anthony Calzado and resident Cristine Villaflor suffered minor injuries in the fire, which broke out at around 2:34 a.m., Senior Inspector Ian Manalo said.

He said the fire was caused by a faulty electrical wiring in the house of a certain Alita dela Cruz.

The blaze, which reached fifth alarm, was declared under control at past 4 a.m. It was put out at past 7 a.m.
