NBI nabs Chinese businessman

MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation recently arrested a Chinese businessman tagged as the distributor of fake Maling products in Tondo, Manila.

Operatives of the NBI-Technical Intelligence Division swooped down on warehouses along A. Rivera street, Jose Abad Santos and Padre Algue street, all in Tondo, after receiving information about the illegal activities of Kevin Chan.              

The raid was made by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Lyliha Abella-Aquino of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 24.

Seized during the raid were 85 boxes of counterfeit Maling products.

Chan was charged with violation of Republic Act 3720 or the Food, Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
