Seaman found dead in Manila apartelle

MANILA, Philippines - A 55-year-old seaman was found dead in his room at an apartelle in Malate, Manila Friday night.

The body of Nestor Gentoral of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras was found in his room at the Marabella Apartelle after a client occupying the room next to him complained of a foul odor.

Cashier Randy Acupan said Gentoral checked in on Feb. 28 and was last seen alive on March 6, watching television in the apartelle’s common area. He said the seaman was a regular customer.

Investigators said there were no injuries found on the victim, indicating there was no foul play.
