GPS device helps cops recover stolen car
MANILA, Philippines - A vehicle stolen in Caloocan City was recovered yesterday at a parking lot in Pasig City through a global positioning system device attached to it.
Driver Joseph Fernando, 35, said he parked the Isuzu Crosswind (TQC-987) at the parking lot of the Hopewell Sales Corp. on Mascardo street in Bagong Barrio at past 7 p.m. on March 6. When he returned at around 8 a.m. the following day, the vehicle was missing.
Police officers tracked the Crosswind to the parking lot of One Mercedes Plaza building in Barangay San Miguel, Pasig City, said Superintendent Cipriano Galanida, deputy chief of the Pasig police.
Parking attendant David Froilan Quinones told police two men left the vehicle at the building’s parking lot on March 7.
