Aspiring actor arrested over sex video

MANILA, Philippines - A 20-year-old talent of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic was arrested by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents at his house in Quezon City yesterday morning for allegedly uploading a sex video of him and his former girlfriend on the Internet.

Arno Morales’ 17-year-old ex-girlfriend accused him of circulating a sex video of them after their bitter breakup last year, according to NBI Technical Intelligence Division chief Palmer Mallari.

Mallari explained they were able to trace Morales, whose real name is Arno Udo Fuchs, after getting IP address of his personal computer and having him under surveillance for two weeks.

“We were able to trace the location where the video was uploaded using the IP address,” the NBI official stressed.

Upon confirming that the actor was residing in a house in Project 6, Mallari said they applied for a search warrant before the Quezon City regional trial court and their request was granted by Judge Eleuterio Bathan of Quezon City RTC Branch 92.

Mallari said they were able to seize the laptop and other electrical devices that contain the sex video and nude photos of the girl.

The NBI also learned that the Pasig RTC Branch 162 has already issued an arrest warrant against Morales on charges of violations of Republic Act 9262 (Violence Against Women and their Children). The charges were filed by his ex-girlfriend over the sex video.

Last Feb.21, Pasig RTC Branch 162 Judge Cesar Pabel Sulit ordered his arrest but police failed to serve warrant after Morales transferred from their house in Blueridge Subdivision, Quezon City, the NBI said.

Morales’ mother, Wilhelmina, denied that her son uploaded the sex video since his BlackBerry smartphone and iPod Touch, which supposedly contained the video, were lost in a party two months ago.

Morales told reporters that “this is just a fight between girlfriend and boyfriend, so don’t make a big deal out of it.”

Meanwhile, the NBI is set to file a fresh charge of violation of RA 9995 or Anti-Voyeurism Act against Morales, aside from returning the warrant of arrest of the actor to the Pasig RTC. He is currently detained at the NBI headquarters.
