Rob suspect slain in QC

MANILA, Philippines - One of two alleged robbers was slain in an encounter with policemen who responded to a heist in Barangay UP Campus, Quezon City Saturday night.

The slain suspect remained unidentified following the shootout at past 8 p.m. at the UP Arboretum, said Quezon City Police District director Senior Superintendent Richard Albano.

Police officers on patrol spotted student Gyde Soriano, 20, asking for help after she was robbed by two men.

When a team led by Senior Inspector Roderick Medrano located the suspects, they reportedly shot at the lawmen. Soriano identified the slain suspect as one of the men who robbed her. The other suspect escaped.

Police officers recovered Soriano’s bag from the slain suspect.
