German found dead in Manila hotel

MANILA, Philippines - A German man was found dead in a hotel in Ermita, Manila Saturday afternoon, several days after he was supposed to check out.
A foul order coming from a room of the Mabini Pension House prompted employees to force the door open. They found the body of Andreus Benesch, 52, at around 5 p.m.
Benesch, a diabetic, was apparently cleaning a wound on his face when he died, said Police Officer 3 Julieto Malindong.
Benesch reportedly checked in at the hotel on Feb. 14, and paid his bills on Feb. 19. He was never seen again, according to hotel staff.
