Vendor, 50, gang-raped in Paco

MANILA, Philippines - A 50-year-old vendor was raped by three men, believed to be drug addicts, near the public market in Paco, Manila before dawn Monday.

“Maring” is currently confined at a hospital in Sta. Ana, where she underwent treatment for severe bleeding.

The victim told the Manila Police District’s women and children protection desk that she was tending to her wares at around 1 a.m. when three men dragged her toward a dimly lit area and raped her repeatedly.

One of the men then raped her using a wooden object, she said.

The victim said she does not know her attackers’ names, but can identify them if she sees them again.
