MANILA, Philippines - Twelve persons reportedly suffered minor injuries when a Baclaran-bound bus rear-ended another bus at the southbound lane of EDSA near Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati City yesterday morning.

According to the Metrobase of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), those injured were passengers of the Ayala-bound Precious Grace bus, which was rear-ended by the Ralph Benz bus at around 7:30 a.m.

The MMDA said the driver of the Ralph Benz bus, identified as Fidel Inage, claimed that his bus’ brakes failed.

The victims were rushed by the MMDA’s Roadside Rescue Unit to the Ospital ng Makati, the Metrobase said.

The accident caused a major traffic jam on EDSA’s southbound lanes, the MMDA said.
