Another Korean arrested for beating Filipina lover

MANILA, Philippines - Another Korean was arrested yesterday by operatives from the Manila Police District (MPD) for allegedly beating his 19-year-old Filipina girlfriend in Ermita.

Police identified the suspect as Kim Sunggan, 45, and currently billeted at the Pacific Regency Towers on Pablo Ocampo street in Manila.

Kim told investigators that he and his girlfriend quarreled after he learned that she was having an affair with another man.

The Korean said he had given her roughly P400,000 since they became lovers six months ago.

The suspect added that he even paid for the woman’s car and condominium unit.

Earlier, Kim Byungyuk, also a Korean, had been arrested after he was tagged as suspect in the killing of a bar girl whose body was found dismembered in Calamba, Laguna in 2011.
