3 hurt in Caloocan stabbings
MANILA, Philippines - Three men were stabbed in separate attacks in Caloocan City over the weekend, police said yesterday.
Senior Inspector Avelino Protacio said Gonzalo Painangan, 20, sustained several stab wounds after he encountered a group of unidentified men along Talipapa street in Barangay 22 at past midnight yesterday.
The men fled after the attack. Painangan was rushed to the nearby President Diosdado Medical Center and later transferred to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
Meanwhile, Edward Nabos, 23, was stabbed, allegedly by his neighbor Noel Vasquez, 25, along Kawal street, also in Barangay 22.
Investigators said the two had an altercation prior to the stabbing. Barangay watchmen arrested Vasquez, who refused to issue a statement. Charges of frustrated homicide will be filed against him.
Last Friday, farmer Larry Delos Santos was stabbed in the back by an unidentified man in Bagong Silang, Barangay 176. He was rushed to the Dr. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital for treatment.
