Alleged carjacker falls

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged member of the Onad Santiago carjack gang was arrested in Makati City Thursday night.

Noel Taladtad is wanted for murder in San Fernando, Pampanga and for frustrated homicide in Pasig City, according to Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte.

The members of the carjack gang allegedly led by Rolando “Onad” Santiago reportedly steal cars to use for other crimes. Police said the gang is reportedly behind carjackings in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Santiago and seven other alleged members of his gang were arrested by police at their safehouse in Dasmariñas, Cavite on Jan. 21, 2011.
