Truck runs over fleeing rob suspect

MANILA, Philippines - A suspected robber, fleeing from plainclothes Parañaque police officers on motorcycles, was run over by a cargo truck as he was crossing Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City before dawn yesterday.
A Pasay City rescue worker said the unidentified man was running across the boulevard near the Pasay-Parañaque boundary at around 3 a.m. when the truck, driven by Romeo Serra, hit him.
Rescue workers rushed to the scene but found the man had died on the spot.
Serra surrendered to traffic authorities after the incident.
Police investigators said they are still trying to identify the suspect and his victims.
