Drug suspect’s partner nabbed in raid

Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A partner of an alleged marijuana peddler was arrested in a raid on their house in Navotas City Monday night.

Rose Eduardo, Wilson Tongol’s partner, was put under arrest after police officers found drug paraphernalia, marijuana leaves, a .38 caliber revolver and newspaper pages in Tongol’s room, city police chief Senior Superintendent Conrado Gongon said.

He said Tongol, who escaped, had been under surveillance for over a month following complaints he had reportedly been selling marijuana to children and teenagers.

Gongon said the marijuana leaves are usually wrapped in newspaper or bond paper, making them look like tinapa or smoked fish. The customers would then proceed to a tree near Tongol’s house to smoke marijuana, he said.
