Businessman slain in Marikina

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in Marikina City yesterday.

Mark Joseph Ang Luna, 45, was declared dead on arrival at the St. Vincent Hospital due to a gunshot wound in the temple.

Police said Luna was walking toward Marvens Hardware in Barangay Concepcion Uno when two men on a motorcycle approached him at around 8 a.m. The back rider alighted from the motorcycle, shot Luna and fled.

Luna was the second businessman shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in Marikina City since December. On Dec. 26, 2012, Nicasio Gamboa was shot along J.P. Rizal street. Investigators have yet to solve Gamboa’s murder.
