3 hurt as truck rams 9 vehicles

MANILA, Philippines -  Three persons were injured when a 14-wheeler truck rammed nine vehicles along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue in Quezon City Thursday night.

Paul Vicente Molina, 29; Melody Liwan and Betchy delos Santos were hurt when a truck driven by Ermar Baluyut, 23, sped from the C-5 flyover and hit a Toyota Vios, which started the smashup involving a Suzuki APV van; a Hyundai van; a Mitsubishi Lancer; a Toyota Rav4; a Suzuki motorcycle (8557-UM); a taxicab and a Toyota Altis, Police Officer 3 Renato Sunga said.

Molina and Liwan were riding the motorcycle while Delos Santos was in the van.

Baluyut told police his truck’s brakes failed.
