Caritas Manila to launch online store

MANILA, Philippines - Caritas Manila will launch a website for its secondhand goods store, Segunda Mana, this year, officials said yesterday.

Segunda Mana program head Gilda Cortez said online shoppers can buy secondhand clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, books and office equipment online, the proceeds for which would be used to finance various Caritas Manila programs for the poor, the needy and the sick.

“It was really the plan of the management to have it this coming year. Hopefully, it will push through,” she said.

Segunda Mana is a revitalized donations-in-kind program of the Caritas Manila, the social arm of the Archdiocese of Manila.

Caritas Manila executive director Fr. Anton Pascual has often encouraged the people to support their projects by shopping at their Segunda Mana stores in Isetann-Cinerama Complex Recto, Makati Cinema Square, Harrison Plaza, StarMall EDSA, Victory Central Mall, Sta. Lucia Mall, and at the head office of Caritas Manila in Pandacan.
