Singaporean arrested for human trafficking

MANILA, Philippines - A Singaporean man, allegedly a member of a human trafficking syndicate, was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last Dec. 12, the Bureau of Immigration said yesterday.

In a statement, the BI said its agents intercepted Law Suang See, 33, as he and his alleged victim, Jianhuang Guo, 37, arrived from Macau.

BI intelligence division chief Ma. Antonette Mangrobang said the two were apprehended after Guo presented a Philippine passport in the name of Johnny dela Cruz Que that turned out to be spurious.

Mangrobang said Law admitted that his companion is Chinese. The BI official said both men would undergo deportation proceedings even as she hinted at the possibility of filing criminal charges against Law for violating the anti-human trafficking law.
