DOLE eyes raps vs PRC exec
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said yesterday that it is planning to file administrative charges against Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Commissioner Alfredo Po, who was arrested for extortion Thursday.
“On the part of the DOLE, we will act on the administrative aspect of this incident once we receive the PRC’s report and recommendation,” Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said.
Baldoz said DOLE would also endorse all the documents related to case against Po to the Office of the President for proper disposition.
She said the PRC, which is under DOLE, has already submitted an initial report on Po’s arrest. PRC chair Teresita Manzala said she has instructed the commission’s legal division to secure the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) official report on the incident.
The NBI arrested Po after lawyer Ernesto delos Santos accused him of demanding a “commission” of P42,800 a month for the PRC’s lease of Delos Santos’ building in Baguio.
