Vietnamese caught with P15-M shabu at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines - A Vietnamese woman was arrested yesterday after customs examiners at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) found 2.8 kilos of shabu, which has a street value of around P15 million, reportedly hidden in her luggage.

Pham Thi, 55, flew in from Ghana via Bahrain. NAIA customs district collector Carlos So said the woman reportedly wrote in her customs declaration that she was Filipino.

Customs examiner Jemky Flor Santos found the shabu in two dark blue envelopes hidden in a false bottom of the woman’s luggage, So said.

The shabu and the Vietnamese were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for the proper filing of charges.
