Same 2 men robbed 7-11 stores in QC, Manila

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Two men who shot dead a security guard of a 7-11 convenience store branch along Quezon Avenue on Sunday were also the ones behind a heist at another branch in Manila an hour later, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Mario dela Vega said yesterday.

According to Dela Vega, this was based on footage taken by surveillance cameras of both stores.

Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo, head of the QCPD-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said the footage showed the robbers in both incidents wore the same caps. The robbery at the Quezon Avenue branch happened at around 5:57 a.m., while the one in Tondo occurred at around 6:41 a.m.

One of the robbers shot guard Reynaldo Guiatao when he saw them draw their guns.

Marcelo said they are checking their rogues’ gallery, which features photos of suspected criminals, and are looking for witnesses in the two incidents.
