Guard slain in 7-11 heist

MANILA, Philippines - A security guard was shot dead by two men who robbed a 7-11 convenience store at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Scout Reyes street in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Reynaldo Guiatao, 30, was hit in the abdomen by one of the robbers. The other robber took his gun, then shot him in the neck at close range, police said.

Police are still trying to determine the amount of money the robbers took from the cash register of the convenience store. They are also looking at the surveillance camera footage to identify the robbers.
