Actor trashes neighbor’s store

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A “drunk” Baron Geisler was arrested Friday night after he went berserk at his neighbor’s store in Fairview, Quezon City.

The actor almost got himself charged yesterday morning for numerous offenses had his family not reached a settlement with the store owner, who is their neighbor, said Superintendent Virgilio Fabian, commander of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 5.

In his report to QCPD director Chief Superintendent Mario dela Vega, Fabian said Geisler was arrested based on the complaint of Raymundo dela Rosa.

Dela Rosa’s and Geisler’s families live a few houses apart on Marlboro street in Barangay Greater Fairview.

Fabian said the incident started when Geisler went to the store at past 7 p.m. and suddenly grabbed a loaf of bread and scattered the slices on the ground. Dela Rosa confronted the actor.

“He (Geisler) got irked when confronted by the complainant. Geisler took a monobloc chair and hit the screen of the store and punched the complainant,” Fabian said.

Eventually, patrolling policemen arrived and arrested the actor. Fabian noted that the actor tested positive for alcohol when was subjected to a medical examination.

According to Fabian, the complainant was supposed to file charges for physical injuries and malicious mischief.

“He (Dela Rosa) had even wanted to slap Geisler with a case for child abuse because his child, who was then at the store, got traumatized because of what happened,” Fabian said.

But both families had an amicable settlement and the actor was eventually released from police custody at around 11 a.m. yesterday.
