Vendor accused of raping girl

MANILA, Philippines - A 48-year-old vendor was arrested for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl in Las Piñas City on Wednesday.

Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona, Southern Police District director, identified the suspect as Antonio Nillas of Casimiro Townhomes in Barangay Pulang Lupa.

Estipona said the girl told her mother that at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nillas brought her to a vacant grassy area in Casimiro Townhomes, raped her, then gave her P100.

The victim’s mother reported the incident to barangay officials, who sought police assistance to arrest the suspect.
