Bank exec arrested

MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Manila Police District arrested the president of the Rural Bank of San Miguel in Bulacan for falsification of public documents Monday afternoon.

Hilario Soriano, 51, was nabbed by Manila policemen led by MPD warrant chief Inspector Elias Dematera and Senior Police Officer 3 Abraham Baltazar in his house in Palanan, Makati City.

 Soriano said his brother, Antonio, filed estafa and falsification cases against him in 1997. The court has acquitted him of estafa charges, he said.
