Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A still unidentified woman was strangled to death in front of two children in a motel in Sampaloc, Manila Sunday afternoon, police said yesterday.

Police Officer 2 Crispino Ocampo said the victim, a man and two children identified as two-year-old “Bon” and four-year-old “Yeye,” checked into the Beehive Travelers Inn at around 1:50 p.m.

Two hours later, room attendant Darrell Montefalcon, 25, saw the door of the room was open and heard the two children crying.

When he checked, he saw the children were on the bed and the woman was in the bathroom with a cord looped around her neck, the end tied to the faucet.

The woman was placed between 35 and 40 years old, at least 4’10” tall and was clad in a black shirt and jeans.

Investigators are searching for the man who checked in with the woman and children. He was placed between 35 and 40 years old, at least 5’7” tall, and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, shorts and a scarf.

The children were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
