Sandy Araneta - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim ordered city officials and employees yesterday to handle the necessary preparations for the arrival of the image of St. Pedro Calungsod on Wednesday.

At least 2,000 devotees are expected to welcome the image at the Plaza Roma in front of the Manila Cathedral at 10 a.m. and attend a Mass at noon.

Lim also directed Manila Police District director Chief Superintendent Alex Gutierrez and traffic bureau head Chief Inspector Reynaldo Nava to iron out security measures and the traffic rerouting.

The image will be brought on a tour of the rest of Luzon starting Thursday.
