Japanese man accused of molesting Pinay

MANILA, Philippines - A Japanese man was arrested yesterday morning after a pregnant woman accused him of groping her at a restaurant along Remedios street in Malate, Manila.

The woman, a former overseas worker, said she and her partner were having something to drink in the Origin Tokyo restaurant at around 2 a.m. when Uchida Kasura, 23, chief executive officer of the Uchida Group Ltd., reportedly gestured for her to approach his table.

The woman said she thought the man was asking for help and since she knew how to speak Niponggo, she approached the table. However, she said Kasura groped her.

Kasura denied the accusations and called the Japanese embassy. He said there was no reason for him to “invite” the woman to his table because she was with another man. He is being held at the Manila Police District headquarters.
