QC to develop ‘manufacturing districts’
MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City local government is eyeing the development of “manufacturing districts” to boost investment opportunities in the city.
Mayor Herbert Bautista announced his administration’s plan to allocate more areas along Quirino Highway for manufacturing companies in a bid to develop the newly created Districts 5 and 6 as “manufacturing districts.”
Bautista earlier expressed his intention to make the city a global growth generator, saying that the city intends to attract more investors especially this time that manufacturing industries in China are looking for other countries where they could do business.
Recently, Bautista instructed business permit and licensing office (BPLO) chief Garry Domingo to ensure that the public would not have a hard time applying for business permits.
The BPLO set up 11 “easy steps” to secure business permits and a special “Millionaire’s Club” lane for business establishments that will pay P1 million or more in taxes.
