Pete Laude - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents from the Northern Police District (NPD) arrested an alleged big-time pusher during a drug bust in Caloocan City Friday.

Chief Inspector Romeo Ricalde Jr., NPD anti-illegal drugs division chief, said Ma. Cristina Mabala, 33, alias Marie, a resident of Maypajo, yielded 10 sachets of shabu worth P5,000.

Prior to her arrest, police received information that a jobless woman known as only as Marie was peddling illegal drugs in a slum area along Kawal street in Maypajo.

A police team, led by Senior Police Officer 2 Fernando Gomboc, captured the suspect after she handed over a sachet of shabu worth P500 to an undercover officer. Police seized from Mabala nine more sachets of shabu and the P500 marked money.

Ricalde said that charges of drug pushing and illegal possession of shabu have been filed against Mabala before the Caloocan City prosecutor’s office.
