Couple caught having sex in Rizal Park

MANILA, Philippines - A couple was nabbed while reportedly having sex in Rizal Park’s Chinese Garden Thursday night.

According to a police report, park security guard Edmar Rapales was patrolling the grounds when he chanced upon Jojo Espinas, 26, and his partner, Ma. Theresa Montibona, 23, at around 9:40 p.m.

He said the pair had their pants down and Montibona was straddling Espinas. The woman reportedly scolded him for interrupting them as they were caressing each other, Rapales said.

“The woman was on top of the man, they were seated,” he said.

Espinas said he and Montibona were only kissing, and they had just made up after fighting for two weeks. They face public scandal charges and could be jailed from six months to a year.

The National Parks and Development Committee (NPDC) warned the public against engaging in unlawful acts in Rizal Park.

“We do not tolerate that kind of indecent acts that is why we are urging the public to observe decorum inside the Rizal Park,” the NPDC said in a statement.

Officials said they have installed surveillance cameras all over the park to make it easy for them to detect illegal activities.
