Man nabbed for illegal guns
MANILA, Philippines - A carpenter was arrested as he was walking along a sidestreet in Caloocan City Friday with two unlicensed handguns tucked into his waistband.
Police Officer 2 Alejandro Billedo, in his report to newly installed city police chief Senior Superintendent Rimas Calixto, said police officers of Substation 1 in Bagong Barrio were on foot patrol at around 10 p.m. when they spotted Gil Guadamor, 44, walking in a suspicious manner along Gen. Tirona street.
When the lawmen accosted him, Guadamor yielded two .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolvers with tampered serial numbers, as well as five bullets loaded in the guns.
Guadamor remained silent when asked what he was doing with two unlicensed revolvers. He also failed to present a permit to carry the guns outside his residence.
He was detained and booked for illegal possession of firearms.
